Threes: Geometry edition

Here's the thing...I like circles and raindrops...and now triangles. These prints from 'I Need Nice Things' are pretty sweet:

It's a pic of the moon all sliced up and put back together to look like a diamond. Seriously. Brilliant, in my opinion.

Threes: Cute stools/side tables/foot rests

It's been a while since I've done a 'Threes' edition but wanted to share some sweet little stools/side tables/footrests...sort of a hodge podge I suppose! Anyways, I was out shopping at Sew & Home, which is one of my favourite home design stores in this fine little city, and among many other things this little stool caught my eye:

They're made by Gus and called Pawn Stools. Cute right? The price, however, is not so cute! I really dig the Zebrano wood in the first pic, which doesn't really show how stripy it is.

And next, take a look at these cute little guys that I came across one day when I was web surfing:

They're from Design Within Reach and are the Frank Gehry Left Twist Cubes. I love the bright colours and think I would seriously need them if I had that pool. They'd be lovely as drink holders, no?

And finally, here's something quite different but perhaps a little more reasonable:

It's a Knitted Pouf from CB2. Basically a knit-covered bean bag chair! I think it would be very lovely as a foot rest or as a stool. Not sure it would be much of a drink holder though!

Threes: Black and white stuff

Just some pretty things I've come across in the last couple of days. I do love black and white stuff.

First, take a look at these pretty mirrors...I can't decide which colour I like better:

That is just a really really nice photograph. I feel like it evokes calmness and peacefulness but also a strong feeling too. Hmm, I guess the title Fierce Grace is perfect. Interesting.

And lastly, here's a tea towel...of all things. A fantastic tea towel! It's Swedish (remember: Swedish=awesome...if you learn anything from reading this blog, it should be this). The tea towel is made up of all things Swedish:

I see brands like Volvo, IKEA, and H&M, names of people like the author of Pippi Longstocking, traditions, and many delicious food items (mmmm, pepparkakor). I recognize quite a few other things too, but you must know me well enough to know that I will be looking up what the rest means!

Threes: Beautiful bows

By now I'm pretty sure that you are aware that I like jewelry...and you may have also figured out that I like girly things...so you may not be surprised to know that I would wear jewelry with pretty little bows on it. In fact, I have. When I was little, I got a fabulous set of gold bow earrings and a matching necklace. The bows had a 'diamond' for a knot. I remember wearing them a lot and I actually still have them in my jewelry box. And yes, that jewelry box plays music.

These bow earrings from Tiffany & Co. are a bit more grown-up...and they're quite possibly the prettiest bow earrings on the planet:

A quarter carat of real diamonds and platinum...definitely more expensive than the ones sitting in my jewelry box!

A little too dainty for you? Well then, how about a pretty pink and gold bow wrapped around your wrist. Of course, it's Kate Spade:

I'm quite sure I gasped when I saw this bracelet the first time. I love bows, I love pink, and I love hinged bracelets. Absolute girly perfection. If I had this, I'm sure my 3-year old niece would want one to match mine!

I would wear that bracelet and I would also want to wear this Anthropology necklace at the same time...although I would try to refrain from wearing both at the same time because I'm very aware that people would judge and sneer...or perhaps I would just stick it to them and wear my shoes that have bows and one of my various bow shirts all at the same time, hmmm...

I think the knotted little wire bow is so delicate and pretty. Maybe bows aren't for everyone...but I'll gladly wear them to make up for the non-bow wearing people of the world.

Threes: Cabinets edition

Could it be possible that I love Swedish design more than anyone else in the whole wide world? Perhaps I should change the title of my blog to 'Kelly loves Swedish stuff'. I was just checking out A2 designers...yep, I have blogged about them twice before (see my post about the little cabinet they make that inspired my blog header here and a post about their super stripey dresser here) but I just have to show you more.

I la la love their new Collect 2011 cabinet. Here it is in white (it also comes in pink, yellow, and blue!):

How very cool it is. You may find this interesting (or perhaps lame) but I wanted to make a quilt in this same pinwheel pattern they have going on here. I wish it also came in a mod little t.v. stand version. I can imagine that would be very groovy indeed.

This is the Collect 2010 cabinet which is a little less bold but I also love the texture of the pattern on the doors:

Threes: Fruit/bread baskets edition

I really like stuff for the kitchen and I've come across some very cool fruit and bread baskets that I thought I'd share with you. First up are these Farmers Market Baskets from Jayson Home & Garden:

They look like plastic but they're actually made of bone china. My favourite is the middle one because it's like those old school green strawberry baskets. I remember having a collection of them...why, I'm not sure. I probably put rocks in them or something.

Another cool container for fruit is this FUZ Eggflat from Design Public:

It's made of felt and lays flat for storage. Those apples and pears just look so cozy, don't they? If fruit can be cozy, I guess.

This next one is technically a bread basket but I would use it for fruit too. It's called the Wicker Bread Basket by Cecilie Manz on Muuto:

It's simple but a very cool design. It would almost be a shame to put fruit or buns in it because you wouldn't be able to see the bottom!

Threes: Kate Spade dresses edition

I'm sure by now you know that I love Kate Spade. My tastes are simple...IKEA, Kate Spade, Valentino, and Tiffany & Co.!

I was visiting Kate Spade's website and gawking at all the beautiful clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry, etc. and I decided I just had to show you some pics of three ever-so-pretty dresses. Just because. I also had to include a close-up shot of each to show you the details that make these dresses so nice.

I love bows! I think the polka dots are also very fun. And if I had this dress, I would also need some red shoes!

Are you kidding me? This red dress is stunning. I absolutely love the neckline. By the way, those earrings she is wearing are also amazing.

Threes: Globes edition

I like globes. I like to look at them...but perhaps even more I like to play the game of spinning it and seeing where I should live. Although last time I did this, I kept getting the middle of the ocean. Not sure I will be following through on this. Perhaps if I had one of these super stylin' globes, they would recommend somewhere else. This silver one is a beauty:

I've actually never owned a globe. I think I'd definitely go with one of these over the standard colourful ones. Although the price tags of these stylish ones are certainly a little higher...or maybe a lot!

Threes: Vintage earrings edition

Oh my! I've been browsing Etsy again and I've found some lovely vintage earrings. I need to remind myself that I can't have everything that is pretty. Do I need more earrings? No. Would all of these look fantastic on me? Umm, yes...very likely. Look at these beauties:

I love them all. I can't help it...I want them! Going back to the question of whether I need earrings or not...does anyone really need earrings? Nope. Definitely unnecessary in the whole scheme of things. But they're pretty, they make you feel pretty, and someone worked very hard in designing and making them (and they only cost between 14 and 26 bucks!) and...my ears are already pierced...so yep,I think I need them!

Threes: Hats edition

On Thursday night, I went to a clothing swap at my friend Alissa's. There were seven girls who all brought clothes and accessories they no longer wanted. We sorted them into piles, and three hours later of sifting through, we all had treasures to take home. It was very fun! I came home with 2 pair of ballet-style flats (red and black), a pair of flip flops, a pair of Ugg-style boots, a green t-shirt, a pink fleece, and a set of matching mitts, scarf, and toque.

And this leads us to today's edition of 'Threes'. I'm very excited to wear my new striped little hat I got at the clothing swap (it's red, black, pink, and grey). This winter, I want to wear hats more frequently. Yes, they mess your hair but they are very cute and they do keep your head warm too! One time my mom told me I look good in hats so it must be true, right???

Love the flower and how very girly it is. This next hat isn't exactly going to keep someone's head warm but I like the look of it. It's one of those slouchy-style ones and it's from Aldo:

Not sure I could pull off the slouchy-style but I think it would be worth a try! The next one is a hat that would actually keep you warm. I love that it's white, hand-made, and it looks so soft. It's from Swedishness:

This winter I think there will definitely be more hat wearing and less just pulling my hood up!

Threes: Places I will go edition

Yep I will go to all of these places...one day!

I've come across some art that I would like on my walls...that I can look at and dream about my future visits to each of these places. First on my world tour is Sweden. Probably not a surprise. It's a place I want to go to desperately...and maybe just stay there!!! I love these funky new art cards from IKEA (of course!):

The other place I really want to go and see is Paris. I would like to sit on a blanket on a patch of grass with a picnic basket and just stare at the beautiful Eiffel Tower for an hour straight. This is a really really nice picture:

p.s. I've come to realize that I can't have everything I see that I like...however, I still like to surf the internet every once in a while and look at beautiful things! Therefore, I will continue to do so. This little post is my first of a series I'm calling 'Threes'. Three things that have a common theme that I've found on my interweb travels that I just want to share. Three is not only a good number but will also keep me from posting an excessive number of things in one post!
