Since some plants are better companions for one another (which essentially means some plants are better together and there are some that you really shouldn't put side by side), I need to look into my gardening handbook to check that my plan is okay. Even if I have to move things around, I'm pretty happy with my choices overall.
The new things are the green bush beans and pumpkins. Exciting! I decided not to do zucchini or cucumbers this year but will probably bring them back next year.
Oh, the thought of green plants and flowers growing outside makes me happy! I look forward to planting and watering and checking on them before and after going to work...and even weeding!
YaHhhh for gardens!! Can't wait to come and see it in person this summer.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait either!!! For the visit...and the fresh veggies...=)
ReplyDeleteYay NJM! I want you to come see it! Are you going to do a raised bed again at your new house?
ReplyDeleteDave...I can't wait for you to help me pick the fresh veggies. You're a pro!
Hey Love... yes we are thinking of a raised garden... not quite as high as the last one but something where i can still at the edge and our super kid could come and stand by while we pick the new growth... I think it would be a great way to teach him about nature. And I'm sure he'll have playing in the mud!
ReplyDeleteI've got to figure out what I want to make and also look at my recipe books and figure out what spices I use often and make sure I dry lots this summer... I'm pumped for this project and excited to eat it, as last summer I was pregnant and not at ALL interested in eating fresh veggies... it would make me gag.
Looks good, Kelly! No swiss chard this year? yummm
ReplyDeleteNJM - it will be great in your beautiful backyard! Yay for raised beds!
ReplyDeleteShawna - Oh I might have to grow some and then you can come over and get it! I'm pretty sure I have some seeds left over!
