A beautiful nursery: Take two

So back in April I posted about the beautiful nursery of a beautiful little boy named SuperKid (okay, that's not really his name!). Check it out here. Since then, SuperMom, SuperDad, and SuperKid have moved into a new home. They kept many things the same in his new room but also made some changes. I just had to show you some pictures of what his room looks like now. Take a look:

A new layout for the crib and change table and the previous glider was switched out for their yellow loveseat. I also love the addition of the paper hot air balloons along with the paper cloud cut-outs:

So cute! The adorable leaf is still over the crib. And there's some more paper cutouts on this wall:

Here's a view of the wall where the closet is:

I love the addition of the clothes hooks. It's functional but also a great way to display some of SuperKid's cute little clothes. The cute art was made by SuperMom (you can see a closer pic in my previous post).

An adorable room for an adorable kid!

A beautiful nursery

This weekend we were visiting some very special people and I just had to show you some pictures of the nursery of a beautiful baby boy. When you see this nursery, you won't be surprised to learn that the SuperMom of this SuperKid is a super creative and talented person. She has such awesome style and it shows in this pretty, calm, and cheerful room. I'm sure SuperDad also contributed in lots of ways because he has great style of his own (I will one day have to show you his awesome basement setup)!

Here's a view of SuperKid's room from the upstairs landing:

It just looks so fresh when you catch a glance as you come up the stairs! I just love the colour scheme. Here's the change table with darling little shelves hanging above displaying some books and other sweet little things:

How adorable are the paper cloud cut-outs on the sloped ceiling? And that leaf! So great:

I love that red chair and insisted it be in the photo shoot! And look at this cozy little space:

Remember how I mentioned that SuperMom is super creative and talented? Well, if you doubted me for even a moment, here's a close-up of the art (hanging in the above picture) that she painted:

She painted a picture of SuperDad as a little kid. So cute! And the other one is her as a little kid:

SuperMom even drew in their current little dog because she's such a special part of the family. How fantastic to have such personal art.

SuperKid is a very lucky little boy. He couldn't ask for a better room and he has the most extraordinary parents too. Thank you SuperMom and SuperDad for letting us stay with you. We miss you and your SuperKid so much already!

Pretty pottery

I like Jonathan Adler pottery. If you've never heard of him, well, he's a potter...but he also designs almost everything else you can imagine. Check out his site here.

So I want this foxy little fox:

A white fox. Reminds me of a little place I used to live! I already have a silver bird and a white dala horse...one more animal figure wouldn't be too much, would it? I guess three things equals a collection!

I love many things that Jonathan Adler makes but I gotta say his animal sculptures are my favourite. So many things that would be so great in a kid's room. Like this giraffe lamp:

So cute. And look at how ridiculously awesome these dachshund bookends are:

Yep, awesome.

I would have loved this when I was little

Check out this playhouse for kids that is basically a sewn slipcover for a rectangular dining room table:

I came across it on a blog called Time of the Aquarius (check it out here - the author is from Finland so it's written in Finnish but there's also an English translation). I think it would be an easy thing to sew and you could just throw it over your table and voila...an instant playhouse. Then when playtime is over, just whip it off the table and fold it up. I would have totally loved playing in something like this when I was a kid!

Mr. Roboto

I just had to share this. Check out these wooden robot toys called Cubebots! I came across them via one of my fave blogs (A Cup of Jo). I think they are awfully fun:

If I had one of these, I would change it's pose every day I'm sure! And it folds up into a sweet little cube (hence the name Cubebot!):

Awesome! Something I need? No. But the hours of creative fun would be well worth the 35 bucks! And yes, I would name mine Mr. Roboto for sure.

Idea board for a nursery: Boy's edition

No, this is not for me. Really! I do not have a bun in the oven. But I have several friends who do!!! And since I love design and come across all kinds of cute kid stuff on my interweb travels, I thought I would try to do one of these idea boards that I see on a number of blogs. I didn't include furniture...just textiles and room decor. This one is focused around this super adorable owl quilt. Although I think you could have this quilt in either a girl's or a boy's room, this is my idea board for a little boy's room:

Here are the links:
11. Little Bear and Duck, Bunny Balloon, and Reach for the Stars prints from Etsy seller Trafalgar's Square

I think the chocolate brown and yellow make it seem grown-up but the overall look is still kid-like. It's the kind of design that I think would grow with a kiddo.

Stay tuned for the girl's edition. It's sure to be very girly indeed!
