Garden '11: First round of planting

My goal was to get my whole garden planted this weekend but it didn't happen. I did get a few things planted today though! Here's a pic of the corner of the back bed where I planted yellow and green pole beans around the bamboo teepee (with Dave's help!) and some flowers. The flowers are a white bleeding heart (perennial), a yellow lady's slipper (perennial), and some tangerine gem marigolds (annual):

Yep, that's a heart drawn around the lady's slipper:

Just showing some love! I also may have talked and sang to it a little. I really really really want it to grow! My grandma has one of these under her big birch tree and the yellow slipper-shaped flowers are amazing! It was pretty pricey but I had to buy it when I saw it.

Here's a close up of some of the pretty white flowers on the bleeding heart:

My mom had a pink-flowered one at our old house. Such cool little flowers...and I love them in white!

I also have to show you the tomatoes! Here's our new hanging planter where we planted a tiny tim tomato plant:

Oh, the tomato looks so sad and little but don't worry, I'll talk and sing to it too! Dave hung up the hook on the fence and helped me put the planter together which had a surprisingly large number of pieces!

Here's a pic of the other tomatoes that I actually planted last weekend. I put two tumbler tomato plants in the black planter (same as last year) and the one in the bed is called bush early girl:

Today I also planted zucchini seeds and climbing nasturtium flower seeds. I still have a lot more to plant tomorrow and/or the next day! Oh, and just so you know, I love my garden!!!
